I tried out a couple more games - Batman AA and Resident Evil 5. Batman is just as amazing as Metro, I played with the lights off and the sense of depth was perfect.

Have you tried to fool with Convergence yet?

Yeah, i tried out convergence, but I'm not really seeing what it does. Also, RE5 is supposed to be a 3d vision ready game, so it should definately work. Anyone have any ideas why RE5 is so screwy?

Screwy ? You have the game and are having trouble or is this info from the web ?
I know there is a dx9 and a dx10 executable, you might want to try both.

It takes time to gauge the setting, with this setting, one can adjust the screen for more clarity and receive more pop-out. To find the right mix of depth and pop-out! It doesn't work with every title, some 3d vision ready titles, the developer handles the convergence.

I'm having troubles getting RE5 to work though. When I turn on 3d vision, there is a ghost image of everything, it looks somewhat 3d but there is a blurred "afterimage" of everything that is not syncing up. It is also running slower than it should, and at one point gave me a BSOD. Anyone else have problems with this? I'm using the newest Nvidia drivers
Ghosting don't often comes from the game you play, but the 3D ware. It is the colour which the game uses that magnifies the problem. It had been some times where people were haunted by ghost in 3d until one day, someone discovered that it is actually the USB controller that is causing most of the ghosting. Try to use different USB port. Some said use the USB port besides the one with the web cam and ghosting disappears.

SirPauly, don't you fine the graphics of shields and armor far more interesting in 3D than 2D in WoW? Sometimes I'll simply zoon in and out, left and right just to look at the shield I wear. Dumb ah?

What is fun at times when other players are hanging out in the capitals, to investigate their amour and weapons with 3d stereo; the amazing shape and form that one may not notice in 2d, stand out and very heightened. Sometimes watching a dual is raised to new levels -- especially with magic users with their neat effects.

It's a totally different experience, when I did get flanked once by the horde when riding, nearly flew out of my seat and scared me -- the horde player popped out of my screen, hehe, couldn''t believe it.

My first day playing 3d stereo in WoW -- the horde attacked StormWind and was just amazed how everything was so clear -- there wasn't a mass of color and confusion on top of each other when there is a ton happening at once, like what I am used to, but everything had separation with shape and form and could distinguish the mass of color of confusion from the models to the effects; it was an amazing experience.

Another one based on an older version of WoW was in Tanaris, where the insects hang out there is a modest cliff that over-looks the insects -- I could make out the distances, height and watching the insects and how real things looked.

It's still not all roses but there are moments where it is jaw dropping, amazing, incredible but then there are times you wanna pull out your hair. I look at it like this: Have the flexibility when it shines and a desire to see the limitations go away as software and hardware mature.

What I noticed with PC displays is that the top and bottom -- 10-15 percent for each, there is more CrossTalk. Where one may notice it much more is if one really pours on depth and in strong color contrasts. Adding gamma, and lowering contrast helps as is lowering depth and adding convergence.

Convergence is the key for me -- it may take some getting used to -- but after one learns how to use it --- very welcomed.
