i would say that by definition, nothing is still *something* - it is defined by all that which it is not. there can be no nothing, there is always something.

Nothing can be something, especially if it is a BIG nothing.
something can be nothing, especially if it doesn't pertain to you.

the last line falls under the SEP rule. Somebody Else's Problem

Nothing's nothing, else it'd be something. If was something, then the word "nothing" would be redundant. Nothing is nothing, or the speaker is a moron.

I see it as how you perceive it to be, hence the SEP rule.

how about this scenario, there is a car crash on the freeway, it is nothing to you cause you dont know the people nor are you driving anywhere. But it's something to the people that know the people in the car crash or are driving on the freeway, or side roads near the freeway.
 
Nothing is still something. Take a space, remove all objects, air, molecules, and atoms, and you are left with a space devoid of any matter, yes? But that space filled with nothing exists. Therefore it is something.

Unfortunately for your argument, at the quantum level, particles and antiparticles pop into and out of existence (in pairs) all the time. There's no such thing as space filled with "nothing." Google for virtual particles or quantum foam.

Like I said, there's no such thing as nothing.
