Honestly how many people buy consoles because of online capabilities. I believe that consoles are still in general considered a personal or local gaming machine. Personal as in people buy game conosles mainly to play by themselves, with family, or with friends that come over. This is why I don't think Nintendo is wrong for not having online capabilities for there current console. I do agree that they should put online capabilities in their next generation console, but for the current console I really don't see an urgent need to do so.

I've never been very sensitive to such comments, but here's a great big FVCK YOU from just another monkey.

I never said the japanese ARE monkeys, but I will if people keep crying about it.

Because they're more focused on developing additional gameplay features to interact with GBA via the link cable, which drives both GBA hardware and software sales. Creating and supporting a network infrastructure for online play means ongoing expenses which most subscription fees only barely cover (I suspect XBox Live is as much of a loss leader as XBox hardware is).

And it's not like Nintendo doesn't have a network adapter. It's just severely underutilized.

FWIW, emphasis on network play over single player is a good way to get me to lose interest in a game. I can't always coordinate a time to hook up with my (recent parent) friends, and I'd rather not play against some teenage kids who have nothing better to do but play video games all day so they can crush all the l4m3rZ within pinging distance.

Nintendo already has a broadband and modem adapter. You need it to play Phantasy Star Online. I think they cost about $40 and you can get them anywhere (I've seen them at Target).

They can just handle it like most pc games. No need to build any super complicated, expensive system.
