Is Nero really the best overall CD burning software???

OK, CDRinfo has an article saying Nero is the best, hands down. Is that true? Is it worth the price of admission? Adaptec software came free with my burner and I'm wondering if Nero is enough better to justify the purchase... Any opinions are appreciated.

Oh, BTW, I know that CloneCD is supposed to be the best for duplicating, but I am curious about overall CD burning software. Thx.

It depends on what you use it for, burning is as easy as it gets with EZCD creator, but NERO gives you much more control as well as many more options.

If it'll do everthing you want, you don't need NERO.

the demo is free and does everything the full version does.

I've used EZ, Nero, Clonecd, and CDRwin...
I usually use EZ to create music or data cds and Clonecd to create copies... rarely use the other two.

For straight CD to CD copies I use EZCD, for everything else (MultiSession, Music (CDA), VCD, etc...) I use NERO.

Oh, I didn't realize the demo was the same as the retail version... If that is true, I'm just curious why would anyone by the retail version at $78 (shipped)?

the Nero demo only lets you burn at 1x ...if you like waiting over an hour for a cd to burn then it's fine

As far as what's better, it just depends ...I have CloneCD, Nero, DiskJuggler, EZCD, WinOnCD ...& use different programs for different needs.

For burning data I like Nero. It gives you much more control. For music I like EZ CD Creator, faster to setup and a better GUI than Nero. For copying I like Plextor's software, quicker to setup the burn.

i use nero for everything, it just does everything and does it well.

however to burn .iso and .bin/.cue files or ripping, i resort to CDRWin. cd to cd copies i use clonecd, that thing'll burn anything.

osage, I haven't used the demo for well over a year (since I have full version 5.0.0.3) but it always used to be the demo was only 1x (unless you had a crack). Anyways Nero is no better than CDRWin or CloneCD ...it was very useful for 'backing up' my DC games though

I have to say hands down I like nero the most, I tried other proggies like cdrwin, ezcd, fireburner, etc...But I like nero the most since it was easy to burn with, in my opinion the program is actually worth buying instead of cracking, clone cd is also another fav proggy of mine for copying cds

for burning VCD's I use NERO
for burning CD's I use NERO (Overburn feature)
for burning data CD's I use NERO (overburn feature)
for copying CD's I use CloneCD (it's the only thing that copies diablo 2)
for burning Dreamcast games I use... I won't say.

Nero and CloneCD is all I use.

What version of Easy Cd Creator do you have?

I just want to add the version 4 of EZ CD is much improvement over the 3.x versions. I use both Nero and EZ CD4 and both are great, and easy to use.

Nero used to be better in backin' up those hard to copy cd's.

having said that I don't use it.

Easy CD Creator is as easy as pie for Audio and Data CDs and gives me no grief at all.
DirectCD probably would but I don't use packet CDs

I use CDRWin for CD to CD copying.

EZCD and CDRWin meat my needs nicely, I prefer Nero to EZCD but it don't use it. (I'd use CDRWin for CD to CD even i used nero for my main).
