Is my video card good enough for Fallout 3?

I have the Gateway M-6848 (http://www.gateway.com/systems/product/529668134.php), it has 2GHz processor, 4 GB of memory, and a video card that I doubt is any good. It's the Mobile Intel 965 Express Chipset Family. I'm having problems getting Fallout 3 to run. I was wondering if my video card just couldn't handle it, or if I should look for a solution elsewhere. The game recommends Nvidia or ATI, but I'm not sure how to tell if mine meets the minimum reqs.

thanks

I'm afraid you've got integrated graphics. You don't meet the minimum requirements for Fallout 3. Even if you could get the game to run, it wouldn't be playable at all on lowest settings - you simply don't have the graphics horsepower for it. You're out of luck in terms of upgrading, too, since it's a laptop.
If you're really into gaming, though, you might want to consider making a cheap desktop. If you build it yourself, you can make a very capable gaming rig for under $500 (one that can run Fallout 3 with ease).

You should really consider giving PC gaming a try. Im not saying to do this exactly unless you can spend the money, but if you build a good computer (maybe spend about 1400 for a clear difference in gameplay and graphics vs console) and you play a game that has been ported for PC and XboX or ps3, you would be amazed with the results. I know thats a huge price difference, but remember, it is not only capable of playing games, a computer like this can also handle the most resource heavy applications, and more multi-tasking capabilities than youll know what to do with. Plus new releases of games are usually up to 20 bucks cheaper than consoles. Also dedicated game servers for multi-player, not just players hosting from their connection anywhere in the us (which can cause horrible lag). Also for First Person Shooters there is no competition, PC mouse pwns all controllers for speed of aiming and accuracy. Go play gears of war on a PC against a 360 user and laugh at the ease of dominating (with practice of course =)

but enough of my jabbering, just ask post a reply if you want to give it a shot and need advice in hardware. =)

*edit
I meant to type up to 10 bucks cheaper =P

Ive had a long day - know gears isnt a FPS but third person is also much easier and quicker to aim and move etc once you get used to it (much diff than a controller)

No I am afraid the GeForce FX 5600 isn't good enough to play even the most basic of modern games. I agree with the poster who recommended the MSI 4670. :)

No? Will my 2 8800GTs in SLI play today's games on basic settings?

You can't use those cards if you have an AGP slot on your MOBO. Just be aware that it's likely that you so judging from the rest of your system specs.
