Is my video card dying?

My PC (yeah its a little outdated)

MSI K8N Neo Platinum (Bios 2.1)
Athlon64 3400
ATI X800 Pro
Fortron Bluestorm 500W PSU
1.5Gb Corsair Valueram PC 3200
3 Hard Drives
Windows XP sp2 (fresh install)

Occasionally my computer freezes up with no repeating audio, although it sometimes makes some high pitches screeches for about 2secs. This mostly happens when I'm in a game, although it happens even when just browsing the net.

So far I've ran memtest86 with no errors and unplugged all unnecessary components to no avail. I reinstalled windows and have all the latest drivers. SpeedFan lists my voltages as follows:
Vcore: 1.58
12v: 12.22
3.3v 3.39
Vcc: 5.07
(I know software isn't completely accurate, but I wont have access to a voltmeter for about a week)

My cpu temp ranges from 40-55C and my gpu temp idles around 40 but can get as high 65 in game. Those GPU temps scare me a little.

So does it seem like my x800 is biting the dust or is there more testing required before making that diagnosis?

Edit: when scanning for artifacts with atitool the temp gets up to 78C (I dont OC, I was just testing the card).

whats the games you're playing? how big are the drives and what's actual free space on each? what's your internet connection speed?

also try

Right click on My Computer -> Properties -> Advanced -> Performance Options -> Advanced -> Virtual Memory Change -> Custom Size
Set initial size to 256 and maximum size to 2048.

Games I've played recenlty include TF2, Portal, HL2, and CS:S. I've got a 74Gb raptor, 300Gb Seagate and a 500Gb Maxtor. They each have about 30gb free. I've completely ruled out the Seagate and Maxtor because the freezing still occurs when these are disconnected. My internet speed according to DSLreports: 2793/3759 Kbps. I'll let you know if changing the virtual memory helps things.

Team Fortress 2 Recommended System Requirements
CPU: 2.4 GHz Processor
RAM: 512 MB
Graphics Card: DirectX 9 capable graphics card 256 MB
Windows 2000/XP/ME/98
Mouse
Keyboard
Internet Connection
CD or DVD rom drive

Team Fortress 2 Ideal System Requirements
CPU: 3.4 GHz Processor
RAM: 1024 MB
Graphics Card: Radeon X800 or Geforce 6800
Windows 2000/XP/ME/98
Mouse
Keyboard
Internet Connection
CD or DVD rom drive

some of your hardware is at recommended and some is from the ideal side. hmm, 30Gb left, and half of that is used by the Windows Swap File, leaving about 15Gb for games, etc to use.

Changing the virtual memory made no difference, the freezing still occurs. Also I know this isn't a game specific problem because the freezing happens in any game or even when just browsing the web.

okay, let PC Wizard run resident and try playing a game, you'll be able to see the temps and volts as you're playing, if it does it again, make note of what they are.

all the readings look good at the moment.

do you use a program called "CCLeaner"??

I'm able to see the cpu temp/volt/load and the gfx temp on my desktop only. When I go into a game it disappears.

I have never used CCleaner.
