Is my video card dead?

This is what I get when I go into WoW now...

What I did :

- Got up from my computer
- Came back 5 minutes later

My dual screen setup was in sleep mode. I tried to "wake" them up by pressing keys or moving the mouse. That didn't do it. I forced a power down. Booted back in Windows, started WoW. Bish mash of something on the screen.

- Took the screenshot.
- Reinstalled latest drivers.
- Reinstalled latest DX.

WoW still isn't ok. Tried to play another DX game : same result. I get serious artifacts when playing video files in WMP.

I think my card overheated! The bummer is :

- My case is open.
- The fan works just fine.
- There is NO dust in the heat sinks.
- I never overclock.
- This is the second time my card do this (had it replaced while it was on warranty).

My card : MSI GF6600 GT

So, what do you think? Is my card dead?

If so, what other model of video card do you recommend? I have a budget of up to 250$ US. I live in Canada so consider that prices are way up here.

If your vid cards keep dying, then maybe your mobo is to blame.

That's what I would suspect as well.

What are the complete specs?

Video driver you are using?

Device Manager look okay?

1024 mb RAM DDR400
Mobo is MSI K8N Neo4
PSU Antec 350w
1 x Maxtor 80gb
1x WD 250gb

I just came back from the store with a 7600GT and the games work great again. Upon further inspection, I had a bit of dust (really nothing major) in the main heatsink and the card was REALLY hot. So I guess it's another case of bad maintenance of stuff... But I'll clean it up and return it to the store, it's still on warranty.
