Is my UPS a ticking time bomb now? Help!

So I was trucking along yesterday when suddenly my entire computer powered off while my UPS started making a continuous high-pitched whine. Strange, I thought as the power in my apartment was still fine. I looked at the UPS display and saw "F06" which the manual says is the code for "Relay Welding" problem. Then I heard a ticking noise. When I looked at the top of the UPS, I realized there was a leak in my roof and the rainwater was trickling right on top of the UPS!

I immediately unplugged the thing and powered my machine with a normal surge strip placed elsewhere.

This morning, with the UPS all dry again, I replugged everything back in (away from drip of course) and while the computer took a minute to start (hit power button, it tried starting, stopped for 5 secs, then started for real) it seems to be fine after it did start. The power usage number on the UPS was a bit erratic during startup (didn't fluctuate this much in the past) but it otherwise seems to work fine and the number stabilized once I was done booting up.

Is this unit fine or do you guys think it's messed up now and I should be contacting APC for an RMA? The thing is really heavy so I don't really want to waste so much shipping it unless there's a good chance the unit isn't fine.

Wait? Your own neglect caused this and now you want to RMA it?

User abuse whether 'act of god' or not is not a warranty issue.
 
I suppose you're right. Well in any case, I'm not so much concerned with whether the unit is replaced for free as whether I should be concerned about replacing it at all. So let me rephrase that--Do you think I should be looking to replace it period.
 
#1 rule with anything that gets water inside it that is electronic, Pull the plug and don't plug it in again until you pull it apart and check for where the water went. Doesn't matter if it is a cell phone , UPS or dvd player. If a cell phone gets dropped in water people should pull the battery asap. Instead they try to power it on, make calls,etc to see if it still works and that is what kills it.
