Well, I have a quick question for you all, before I burn my nice $500 card forever...anyways, heres a run down of what happened. I was rewiring my case, and stupidly, when I was reconnecting everything, I forgot to plug back in my (aftermarket) TT cooler for my card...and therefore did not have the GPU fan running at all...for at least a minute...keep in mind when the comp was on, there was no monitor connected so I didnt see any problems. Anyways, when I went back the next day, and hooked everything back up, my screen had a bunch of blotches and squares, and stuff was dissapearing from the screen, so I thought It was the monitor. Apparently, it wasn't, because the same thing happened on every other monitor. By the time I had realized my GPU fan wasn't plugged in, it had already been running for quite a while again, and well, now It does that non stop. It also seems like the heatsink isnt quite touching the GPU, so maybe that was a problem, or maybe it heated off...I don't know. Anyways, i wont make this any longer...simple question. Is my card dead...or is there a solution. Thanks!!!

Well was it just on for a minute then you shut down? Then started it up the next day and you saw blotches? 1 minute with it the fan off shouldn't hurt anything.

It sounds like it was on longer, and if that is the case, you certainly may have fried that card.

Yeah, already gotten the 9600XT...I'll wait for christmas and put my 9600XT in my second comp (to replace the geforce 3 TI200), and have my new 9800XT in my main comp :D
