Is my system dead?

I thought my earlier troubles would be over after I installed a chassis fan (stupidly didn't realize that the one included with the case was only a weak intake fan) and replaced my generic PSU with a 350W Enermax, but things have gone from bad to worse.

Earlier today, my comp just beeped constantly when I tried to boot it (15+ beeps), but I was eventually able to get it to boot, after wiping the CMOS. Sadly, it just crashed immediately, before Windows could even boot.

Now, when I power up the system, the fans all start, but that's it. No beeps (it beeped once during one of many failed startup attempts, but that seemed to be a fluke), no nothing. Is my motherboard dead? Where do I even begin to figure out where things went wrong?

I was hoping that I just had a corrupted Windows install from when I had the lousy PSU (I was able to play City of Heroes for a few hours this morning!), but right now things seem to be Very Wrong.:(

UPDATE: After resetting the CMOS again, the system booted normally (albeit at the default setting of a 600 Mhz CPU and DDR200 RAM). I wasn't overclocking when things went screwy, so what's going on here? I'm afraid to clock the CPU and RAM normally, for fear of getting "locked out" again. :(

All you can do is start testing parts. If you have another computer, you can try swapping some parts.

Try un-plugging all extra parts, hard drive, cd drives, floppy, sound card, lan, etc. etc.

Also try to re-seat the cpu and ram, in case that will help. You could also check the cpu heatsink to make sure it is seated properly. If it's not, or if the cpu fan wasn't running, you may have fried the cpu.

One last thing. Get a copy of MemTest86 (bootable cd or floppy) and you can try testing your ram with that if you can put the ram in a working system.

Thanks for the quick reply.

- I'll try to test the memory, but before the system completely died on me I tried using both of the DIMMs alone, and that didn't help. :(

BTW, how can I tell (besides the sticker) if a Abit NF7 mobo is really a revision 2.0?
