Is my Samsung 955df dying?

Hey,

My trusty 955df CRT has developed a seeming spontaneous lack of focus. I can get one side or the other of the screen in focus (same goes for top/bottom) but then the opposite is completely unreadable. At the moment I'm left with a semi-readable screen, but it's kind of a pain.

Has this happend to anyone else? Is there anything I can do about it?

I'm having thesame problem. My Samsung 955DF is about 4 years old. How old is yours? Of course mine is out of warranty. Someone told me there is an adjustment screw on the left side (facing the monitor). Looks like you have to take the back cover off. There is a lot of juice back there so if you look for it be real real careful. I haven't look yet.

You have tried using the Degauss function?

Another possibly unrelated causes of blurred monitors is using Halogen lamps near your monitor.

I bought a very nice and fancy halogen desklamp and then thought my eyesight had finally given up..the halogen lamps interfere with the focus of the CRT's...😕

Yes I have degauss, that didn't work. I have nothing around the computer or monitor. I think it's slowly been getting worst. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thats crappy man, i have TWO of the 955dfs hopefully this doenst happen to mine.

You may want to call samsung and see what they say.

My Samsung SyncMaster 955DF if out of warranty.

I'm thinking about removing the cover and seeing if there is a adjustment screw on the side like I was told. If not, I'm probalbly buying a new monitor, most likely a LCD monitor. IT WON'T BE A SAMSUNG!

I have a Samsung 955DF myself (and a couple of 755DFs to boot). Had it for many years, no problems so far with any of them... though I am about to "pass the torch" as I'm going to pass my 955DF to my wife since I just purchased a Viewsonic VP912B LCD which will be here on monday!

I couldn't stand the thought of going anything smaller then my 955DF, so I had to get at least a 19" LCD, and one with a quick response time for gaming.
