Is my power supply dying?

Hey Guys,

My computer isn't all as stable as it used to be...so I've been trying to figure it out. When I go into bios, my vcore is jumping from 1.48 to 1.5 to 1.52 at random intervals. Is this normal? It is an asus p4b266. Any ideas? Thanks!

doubt this is your PS...if your vcore is jumping around, you either have a bad proc, or the motherboard's voltage regulator is going south. Perhaps its time to replace the motherboard before it takes out your processor.

New Power Supplies are rather cheap so you can definitely do that first before swapping out the MOBO.

I tried the new bios, but same thing. I decided to try a new motherboard. I wouldn't have, except that I found a killer deal at newegg. Got a refurb GA-SINXP1394 for 39 bucks. Hard to beat that. I just hope it's not my processor now....thanks for the help.

i bought 4 brand new MSI k7T Pro 2 motherboards from overstock.com for $40 shipped when they were doing their 1 dollar shipping sale. the board was 39, and was brand new, not refurb. Not a bad motherboard at all considering, and the fact that it has the promise Ultra ata controller with two separate ide connectors for a total of 4 ide connectors.

the overstock.com link. They are doing the $1 shipping again.
