is my power supply adequate?

My power supply is a 300w sparkle

I have a prescott p4 2.4 (at stock right now)
gf4 ti4200
abit is7-e mb
1 sata 2 pata hdds (all 7200 rpm)
1 dvd-rom 1 dvd-rw both pioneer pata
sb audigy sound card
2 case fans (Thermaltake VA4000BWS case)

Is this not supplying enough power? any problem signs?

I'd like to go back to overclocking the chip to 3.2, that would require a slight bump in voltage...

You should be ok, if your psu is made by one of the reputable manufacturers.

With the number of drives you are running, I would want a more powerful supply. I think you are cutting things a bit to close.

Total wattage is much less of an issue as whether your sparkle is of the old atx1.x design. If it doesn't have strong 12v rails I recommend changing it.
And the atx spec says a max of 5% deviation.

Probably not.. i ran dual xeon 2.2 with 7 scsi 10k and 3 cd/dvd drives. had 0 problem. I dont use the xeon board anymore but the 300w sparkle still works great.

I think I would ditch the Sparkle and go for the MAXIMUM PERFORMANCE PSU: TURBO-COOL® 1KW!!!!
