my computer:
shuttle ak31 mobo (v2.0)
athlon xp1800+ (no oc)
512mb 2100 crucial ddr (2x 256dimms)
gainward geforce 3 ti200 64mb
40gb seagate ide hd
80gb wd ide hd
liteon cdrw
I installed watercooling a day before my computer broke
powersupply is a 420w thermaltake with active pfc, voltage readouts in bios are no more than ~.05 off target

heres the problem..
I can't boot into windows xp pro 75% of the time (bsod), and when I do I can't touch anything or it bsods, and, I can't even boot from the windows cd (bsod too)
I've recieved a bunch of different bsod errors, IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL, DRIVER_IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL, PAGE_FAULT_IN NONPAGED_AREA and a bunch without a name, 0x8e 0xc5 0x01 0x7f 0xd1... it seems to give them at random, a few errors have included drivers, usbport.sys, ntfs.sys and win32k.sys. I ran chkdsk /R, nothing was wrong.
I tested my memory for 2 hours, and tried each using dimm seperately but it didn't help. I took my soundblaster and NIC card out, it didn't help, so basically my computer is a piece of sht right now.

any ideas? I have no idea what is wrong, but all of this started after I had a UE in tribes 2, when I restarted my computer, I would get bsod everytime I went into tribes 2, then it sort of spread into other games (not immediately), bsod when I tried to play, then I unistalled video drivers, and when I tried to reinstall the newest version it bsods. so my computer gradually messed itself up more.

my video card was over clocked, though not very much, I raised memory speed to 450 from 400 mhz (I think) and core to 210 from 175 (I think) with stock cooling.
My computer was stable for ~2 years with all of this hardware. the only hardware change was water cooling a day before it messed up. I did accidentally touch the motherboard with a screw driver when mounting the watercooler, but with no more force than it takes to press an elevator button, and the computer was unplugged.

any ideas as to what is broken? I'm 99% sure it is hardware, there no were recent software cahnges and I can't boot from windows xp cd
the only things I can thinkof that could be broken are the mobo, cpu or vid card, but I don't know which or for sure

thanks for any help

how long did it run fine with the new waterblock...? before and after you fired up tribes2..?

im running memtest now, I ran docmem before (http://www.simmtester.com/PAGE/products/doc/docinfo.asp) for 2hrs and it didn't find anything

the temps on my cpu are ~36-42 C, shutdown temp on bios is at 65

it probably ran for 24 hours with the new water cooling, I left it running overnet overnight, and I had played tribes2 and CC generals with the new block on

I don't have a firewall, but I do have a linksys router with only a few ports forwarded to my computer 4662,4667 i think
do you think there is any sort of virus or something that could even give me bsod when booting from cd?

Did you disconnect your drives when installing the H2O unit? If so I'd double check your connections (both ends) and try different cables.
