Is my motherboard dead?

I've been using this IP35-e for about a year now, and it was running fine until recently. It's been having trouble getting into sleep and coming out of sleep. I also have to power on multiple times before Windows will load.

Now I can't get my system to POST. The fans spin when I push the power button, but the CPU fan stops after a few seconds and I get nothing on the screen. Is this motherboard dead?

1: Dont panic yet
2: had that happen to an ip35e and thought for sure it was dead.
3: pull battery and disconnect power to it for half hour or so
(yes, do it LONGER than you think it needs for just a cmos clear)
4: after half hour, put battery in and power it up.

Worked for me and as i said , i was SURE it was toast!

Thanks for the reply. I'll try disconnecting the power for awhile (I cleared CMOS and took out the battery earlier, but not for very long).

do both power and battery at same time to be sure.
Its not like ya need the battery with no power anyway. 😉

Well, disconnected both power and battery for an hour and I'm still getting nothing when I try to boot. Is there anything else that could be causing this, or is it most likely the motherboard?

EDIT: OK, got it to boot by removing 2 sticks of RAM (8gb to 4gb). Would bad RAM cause this?

I think I've narrowed it down to one bad stick of RAM, since I can boot without problems unless I have that particular one installed.

Yes it can. See if it runs stable and turns on multiple times with 4gb only. Are you also sure your PSU is OK?

I really hope it's not my PSU, since it's not that old and a fairly nice model (Corsair 550VX). It's been stable so far.
