Is my monitor gonna explode?

It's making a pretty loud poppin/cracklin noise from inside and the screen flashes every few minutes. It just started doin' this....

Is it gonna die on me?

I had to RMA a KDS monitor about 2 years ago, and it went very smooth. However, mine was within a 90 day warranty.. I dunno how it works now. The RMA went very quickly.. they sent me a refurb monitor, then I packed my monitor in the same box and UPS came and picked it up (I had to give KDS my cc number for this option).

I bought mine in Sept of 2001, it's within the 36 month warranty, i'm hopin' they'll just say we'll cross ship ya a new one 😀

But i doubt it..lol

I guy I know tossed his monitor on the floor, and got a new one thanks to the guarantee. A quick and efficient way of getting things done.

I had a compaq monitor that died with in the first week or so. I got a replacement and it has been working great for nearly 2 years now.

If monitors finally go pop for whatever reason is it possible for them to take out your video card aswell.
Could be an expensive blow up.

Well it seems that there could be a power surge that could hurt your video card, but I'm not sure.

Of course if you have gasoline sitting by your monitor when it explodes it could take out your entire house. 😉

Monitors simply will not explode! You can shoot a monitor and it will not explode, see this link
