Is my monitor going bad?

About every half an hour my monitor clicks, flick to black and then comes back taking about 1 second. Anyone know what could be causing this?

I have a 19 Inch KDS v195. It's about 1 1/2 years old. I run at 1280x1024x32@85Hz with a G2 Pro450 video card. I reset the CPU and Video Card overclocking and still get the frequent flicks.

PLEASE HELP!

That sounds like a loose cable (make sure it's connected nice and tight). A loose cable would definately behave that way.

One thing I should mention is that I had that exact same monitor until it died on me about 1-2 years after I got it (about a year ago) ... I drove it to the KDS replacement centre (or whatever it's called) which is about 15 mins away from my house and got a replacement within a day.

I didn't have any problems like you're describing with my monitor, what happened with mine is one day I was just working on it, and the screen just went black (first time it did that) and the green light turned red ... it never turned on properly again and I think there was a faint burning smell (or perhaps that was another monitor). Hopefully yours isn't dying because KDS makes pretty good quality monitors for a great price -- I have 2 other KDS' and my friend has 4 that haven't had any problems (although the only 195 I had died :(

I just rechecked all the cables. I haven't had any problems for about 15mins. I know this weekend if that was the problem. Thanks!

I like KDS monitors. Some others have complained about them coming DOA or going bad after a couple years, but had no problem getting them replaced. I don't think every monitor is guaranteed to work out of the box, but if it's under warranty then it should be taken care off no questions asked!
