is my i7 920 overclock safe?

Hi All,

I've finally decided to OC my latest rig that is in my sig. Can someone chime in and let me know if it looks safe as far as long term reliability and stability goes?

Here are my OC specs...

i7 920 DO with stock heatsink & AS5 @ 3,200MHz (160 X 20) - Vcore 1.1625, Turbo Off
Uncore @ 3,200MHz - 1.155 volts
RAM @ 1,600MHz, 9-9-9-24-1T, 1.5 volts

System idles between 31C & 38C. Full Load on Prime95 or IntelBurnTest 2.4 is around 65C - 71C.

It passed 24 hours of Prime95 and IntelBurnTest on "Very High" settings, in addition to passing 24 hours of MemTest86+ 4.0.

Is the Uncore safe at 3,200MHz? I figured it must be since it passes all the stress tests quite easily. I tried to get the OC to run at the highest possible setting with lower than stock voltages because I was only using the stock heatsink.

Any opinions on my OC?

Should be . . . remember, the real risk of damage comes from overvolting some element of the CPU. Since you've undervolted yours, you are probably not risking any damage at all.

Well, let me preface this post by saying no one can guarantee the stablilty and long-term viability of an OCed system. However, given your temps, voltages, and testing results, you're certainly looking good.

You ran Blend and Small fft on Prime95? Blend commonly produces more system errors for me.

looks like you have a lot of potential left if you swap the stock cooler. i'm on 3.8ghz at 1.275vcore and around 68-70 C on load. I can get a stable 4.0ghz on 1.35 vcore but that gets over 80 C on load so i backed it down to 3.8

I ran blend on Prime95. On IntelBurn I used the "very high" setting.

I was never going to OC that's why I just used the stock cooler. But, I got the bug and now it's a hassle to pull the motherboard out to install a better kit. I probably will, but I'll wait 'til I change out my 5 year old case in a few months.

For now I just want to ring out whatever I can with the current setup. The high Uncore clock is what concerns me. What types of Uncore clocks are common?
