Is my friend crazy?

I have a friend that is 28yrs old. He completley believes in UFOS and Aliens and is always talking about conspiracies and stuff. He swears that he has seen UFOs and hes always talking about how he sees what looks like shooting stars but he believs thier UFOs. He has said that he seen a UFO fly over his back yard....

He also is a major Raiders fan (football) and he believs with all his heart that the league officials get paid to call against them ( "its a conspiracy"). And the year the Patriots won the superbowl...(after the world trade center atacks) he believes the president fixed it to where the Patriots would win because it was a "Patriotic time".

Its scary to see how seriously he feels is about all this....I could go on and on about the stuff he believes...but to im trying to keep it short.

My wife who works in a mental instituion believes its a form of schizophrenia.......

Do you guys think this is normal?

Yea maybe....He seems so normal outside of this though....Hes hella cool and we hang out alot, Ive known him for 15yrs.....its JUST THIS PART of him that seems wierd.

If he's able to function normaly without significant problems, he's fine. A "crazy" person would be unable to function on his own, and would be unable to socialize. When he become a danger to himself and others, that's when you should step in.

Kinda I guess.....Im not his counseler so I dont get all his personal life details (and wouldent want them). But a thing like....I went over there every sunday during football season and watched football, he has NFL sunday ticket so we got all the Raider games.....every time the Raiders would lose or a call would go against them....it was never "thier" fault.....there was always an excuse or reason outside of them just plain old gettin beat, he would yell and believe with all his heart that the ref was just paid to make a call gainst them.....that just an example I guess (so I guess that would be blaming)....and maybe EVERY TIME is exzagurating a bit....

Not really. People believe in God (including me) and that he controls things and is all powerful. Now if he starts hearing voices, that's another story.

it is like religion stuff is always exception. If people believe UFO he is crazy , but if people believe he sees god, people say he has holy vision or thinks he is very devoted christian . i don't really know what's crazy anymore

Maybe he does it as a joke on you, like when you leave him and his other friend erupt in laughter then go get a drink

LOL...that would be funny....but I know him very well....and I cant see someone just kiddin around for 15yrs......

Y'know that water vapor that sometimes comes off of plane's wings? Well I was standing outside the Post Office a few months ago while my Dad was mailing a package and this odd looking women came up to me and pointed out that the water vapor was really a gas of some sort that the government was using against us. For what reason she was not sure, but she was confident that the government was putting a hazerdous gas into the enviorment.

Is that stranger, or less stranger than your friends theories?
