Is my dvd drive bad?

I having problems with my afreey 6x dvd. I get weird memory access errors after playing a dvd. Funny thing is that it occurs at the same point in the movie(several) and happens with all the software dvd players ive tried(xing, powerdvd, windvd). However if i play the same dvd in another computer it plays fine. So i think it may be the dvd itself. Anyone have this happen to them. Also, Ive noticed that in the device manager doesnt have the option for me to enable dma for the drive.

One more problem that im haviong is that the sound echoes. Is this a sound card issue? As above, it does this with all the differnt software that i tried

Have you tried the latest firmware? I have the Afreey 10x DVD (4010e) and I was looking for teh latest firmware for this drive. Found it, but it doesn't work with my drivfe for some reason (perhaps a Win2K issue). I might try to flash this drive in a diff. operating system. Just a shot. It might help ya.
