Is my Dual Core 3.2ghz faster than the Core 2 Duo 2.2ghz?

Just to let you know....A 2.2 ghz C2D ~= 4.4 Pentium D... Yes its that bad.

My Pentium D 820 @ 3.0GHZ is almost equal (slightly slower) to a Pentium E2140 @1.6ghz. Your Pentium D 935 @ 3.2ghz would be a lot slower than a C2D @ 2.2ghz.

sure it's faster. says so right in the topic title.

Of course, the C2D is better. It is far more efficient and performs many more operations per clock cycle. so even though it doesn't run as fast, it gets more done in the same amount of time.

@mitchhamlin - Do you have a working Pentium D 935 system? If so, I would be thankful if you'd download and run my x264 benchmark with it since I currently don't have data for that chip in the table. You can compare the results from it to any number of C2D chips by the way.

BTW, there are currently data in the table for 15 Allendale-based chips including the E2140, E2160, E4300, and E4500.
