Is my cpu too hot?!

I'm running a AMD TBird 900 non-overclocked on an Asus a7v. Asus probe indicates a temperature of 59 degrees Celcius. This has got to be WAYYYY to hot right? i'm not sure where i can find how much 'load' is on my computer. My current cpu fan/ heatsink is a Chrome Orb reported to be rotating at 5900 rpm. Any suggestions for a new and better CPU fan? I'm thinking my case fans are pretty poor too cause my board temp is at 31 degrees C. If i do change my cpu fan will it be a difficult task? i've heard that these AMD chips are rather fragile. got any tips? - thanks in advance.

I also forgot to add in... I'm currently also running 2 hard drives. Maxtors : one 30GB @ 7200 and one 15 @ 5200. The 15GB isn't really being used, would disconnecting the drive lower my temps down any you think? .. Lastly i've got an Prophet II MX w/ a built in heatsink but no fan. I've seen some kind of PC case blower thing that plugs into an open slot in your case. I've got room right under the card so that it would be positioned right next to the heat sink. I'm thinking of doing this however, if i did so, I would have 3 fans blowing out of the case (PS, case fan, and this added in PC blower ) with only one fan blowing in (same fan type as outward blowing case fan). Is this a bad thing? ... I have no idea how many cubic feet of air the fans move. - i think thats all. thanks again for the info.

Well see my post above, but I have almost the exact same temperatures with an AMD Thunderbird 950.

well, i'd personally stay away from the c-orb... Orb, Globalwin, Taisol tests: Internal Diode versus Socket-Thermsitor tests.

But for your CPU speed, the C-orb can still be used and still keep the cpu at reasonable temps.

If you do decide to upgrade, a taisol unit is very cheap and performs well. I would personally put more effort into case cooling, though... As California has been very cold lately.
