Hi recently purchased a Radeon x800 XL 256 msand i dled the latest drivers for ATI 5.7
and in one of the options it says "Radeon x800 Series." Since its a x800 XL shouldnt it say that or it just like that?
btw my specs are Epox nForce 4 Ultra AMD 64 3200 Venice 1 gig Corsair, 420 watt Thermaltake. Hope u guys can help ^^

Only way to fix that is with a BIOS flash. Maybe a driver update but, does it really matter?

A couple drivers ago my XT just said x800 series. Withthe 5.6 ans 5.7 it now says X800 XT. But who knows?

Almost all cards do this. My 6800 GT says 6800 series. Download 3dmark 05, run it, and submit results. It should tell you your exact card.

Under graphics chipset with CCC, mine says X800PRO.

Why don't you check out the overdrive option to see the clockspeed of you GPU.

Installing ATI tool is another good way to check, but my XL said X800 series only as well. I do miss mine too 🙁

Nah doens't hold back performance just says what series card it is. I wouldn't worry about it. All it is a name. If you really wanted download a hex editor and use ATI copy your vcards BIOS. Edit the BIOS with the hex editor and rename the card. Then flash the BIOS. Pretty risky for just a XL added to the name if you ask me ahha.

My X600 Pro card in my work computer also only says x600 series. But under chip type on the adapter tab it says chip type x600 Pro.
