I have an older Compaq Presario 1200 (12xl125) Notebook. Basically I turned it on the other day and the unit turns on, the screen doesnt get a signal and it keeps checking the floppy over and over. I tried hooking up the vga out but no signal gets sent to my monitor. Putting a floppy in does nothing except stop the clicking from the system checking the floppy drive. I tried a a bios restore disk but no luck. I dont know what happened, I used it the day before. It hasnt been dropped. Its older(k6-2 533) so its really not worth paying for repair. Should I take it apart to see if anything socketed chips got loose? Im stumped.
