can I send you a PM like the childish one you sent me? oh wait now I am acting like you.

I was trying to help at first because I thought 2.5 seemed a little too fast for your cpu to compare to his. obviuosly though 2.5 is about right with your E6000 series cpu. anyway I was certainly not off topic unlike your little snide remarks.

You could if you want.

You weren't trying to help. Your first response was quoting me to prove it's not right only to figure out it was right all along. Probably still upset about that CPU limiting thread. lol

Anyways if you are done I'm ready for that PM so we can argue some more.

folks here is the PM I just received from your highly distinguished AzN "You are 17 year old too stupid to know anything about computer. I bet your IQ is double digits and pick your nose and eat it. "http://img163.imageshack.us/img163/8841/azn.png

wow you almost topped your childish PM from last year.

You do know you can be childish in PM right? I was waiting for you and got tired of waiting for you. Anyways you always want attention so I give you some you tattle tell like a 12 year old boy who gets beat up in the playground like anyone cares. You're quite pathetic.

why because I show the kind of person you really are? your PM that you just sent isnt nearly as ridiculous as the last one you sent me but it clearly shows you have issues.

It has nothing to do with what kind of person I am. I just think you are an idiot and very ignorant. lol

and I can tell by your personal attacks that you must be very intelligent. I mean only a genius could come up with what you said. btw if I told you my real IQ and age then you would just say the test and the calender were broken.

Like you don't personal attack. At least I do at PM where it's more appropriate but you would deny everything.

Your IQ tests probably is broken if you got anything higher than double digits like your computer. As for you age. You like riding your bicycle and HP was your first computer last year. I can only assume but you definitely have that young buck vibe about you.

You trying to take out your frustration in BF2? I'll whoop your ass silly. :D

nice try. the HP I had wasnt my first computer and if you actually look in my profile it shows I am 37. in fact I will be 38 tomorrow. I am the same age and enjoy the same sport as Lance Armstrong but maybe athletic competition isnt something you have ever tried. lol

Then it must be the stupidity. You quote then quote only to prove yourself wrong. Usually when someone tries to explain things it's because they know something about it unlike you.

Is Lance Armstrong somebody special? If he's not E. Asian wouldn't care to know.

if you dont know who he is then that shows how clueless you are about the world outside of computers. btw I think google still works so being the genius that you are I am surprised you didnt look that name up first.

You do know this kind of response is personal attacks too. Let's get that out of the way since you only think what I say that offends you is personal attack.

Now I said I don't care to know about Armstrong fellow unless he's E. Asian. If he was I would know. Just because we don't have the same interests besides computers doesn't mean I don't know anything outside of computers.

Good grief can you two go find a bedroom and be done with it?

Back on topic:

OP did you wipe the NVIDIA drivers when you installed that 4770? Leftover drivers can sometimes can cause issues - using an utility like Driver Sweeper or
nVidia Nasty File Remover can help you.
Last resource you can format your PC.

Although I'm not certain if that will improve your situation much - 4770/4850 are on a different level (ie, lower) than a GTX260.

Please don't start with the CPU bottleneck argument again. But this time it's true, my Pentium M @ 2.70GHz was as fast as the Pentium E2200 at stock speeds in gaming. I did the comparison almost two years ago, and my brother's in law has the Pentium E2200 coupled with the HD 3870 and I had the Pentium M coupled with an overclocked HD 3850 512MB to HD 3870 speeds, and in games, I even outperform it slighly, cache does really matter in CPU gaming performance, and my 2MB of cache was much better than his 512KB per core cache that he had.

So going to from Pentium Dual Core to a E8x00 series will yield you great results, and if you go Quad, even better. But since your motherboard isn't something totally new, a nice AMD Tri/Quad CPU/ Motherboard combo will do very nicely to you. Is up to you to decide which is the cheapest route.

Clock differences might have something to do with it and lot of games being single thread as well.

Cache matters in some programs.

3.4 ghz E2160 is just as fast as x6800 with 4meg cache if not faster

I did not; Windows 7 asked what it should do with the old drivers, and I (erroneously) said leave them.

I have GPU-Z, but don't recall seeing anything that specifically stated it was running PCIe-16.

When I get home tonight, I'll verify it does ( or doesn't ) state that.

Use one of those programs I linked and see if it makes any difference.

PCIe speeds are shown on the main tab under "Bus Interface".

BTW, have you disabled onboard video in BIOS? It may be consuming resources.

My 4870 gets more than twice his fps(both average and minimum) at 1680x1050 in Dirt 2. I know the 4870 is not 100% faster than a 4770. He either has a software problem or is CPU limited.

I have --- and as a side issue, I still don't totally understand the correlation between GPU memory size and losing useable system RAM.

When I had 2GB of RAM and my 256MB 9600GSO, Windows (and BIOS at boot ) said I had 2GB.

When I upgraded to 4GB, my system would say ~3.5GB useable.
When I upgraded to my 4770 (512MB), I'm down to 3.25GB useable.
:/

Azn & Toyota: cut the personal attacks. Azn is the worst offender here by far, so he's received a warning.

I also want both of you to remove those inflammatory signatures you have about each other.
