I get about 2100 on the 3DMark2001. Does this seem a little low for my system?

AMD 1@1.4ghz
512MB RAM
Voodoo5 5500 AGP

Does MadOnion have something against 3dfx cards? I thought I heard that somewhere. Is that right? I ask becuase in games my V5 kicks, sweet fps in all new games (Nascar4, Tribes2, Max Payne).

What OS/drivers are you running your LE? I'm running my duron at 896 w/ win2k, the LE oced to around 186, and I only get 2700.

Yes, MadOnion is biased against all but Nvidia cards.

My Duron 800@1035/G400 system gets about 1600 on 3dMark2k1. Default bench. Win98SE.

Your score sounds about right.

That really sucks, oh well I'm happy with my V5 for now. I'm thinking I'll grab a GF4 when they first come out. My V5 should last me till then:D

Why not just get a $73 Radeon LE from newegg. Enable HyperZ, OC it, and you'll get close to Geforce2 Pro speeds.

If you don't have hardware T&L your 3Dmark2k1 scores are going to suck.

Even with a Radeon the scores aren't as good a GeForce.

Don't worry about 3Dmark, it's the dumbest thing ever created.
The only possible use for it is seeing if some tweak raises performance at all.

You should never use 3Dmark as an indicator of overall system performance.

For example with a Kyro2 I get like 1400 3Dmark.
Yummmm ;)
But in Quake3 10x7x32 max details I get over 70fps, and it's even faster in Unreal Tourny than a GF2 (I don't play UT so I haven't done any specific benchmarking).

If 3dmark could run OpenGL tests and not just D3D the Voodoo cards would perform much better. Voodoo's just aren't designed for D3D, but they rock in OpenGL
