at normal use my CPU temperature in BIOS is 59C. now 59C sounds a lil too hot for me, especially when it isnt even under load. i am getting a new cpu cooler soon anyway. i dont have any intake or exhaust fans for my case except for the PSU. for the CPU cooler, im thinking either the glacial gc68 or the thermaltake volcano 7. the volcano 7 is a lot better right? i think im gonna go with that one because it cools better and is quieter. you might expect the cooler im using right now to be quiet because it cools my CPU so poorly, but man is it loud! thanks for the help

Athlons run hotter than Intel chips, a good investment would be a couple case fans like the Panaflo L1A's or the Silencer fans. Summer is comming and your case will only get hotter without additional air flow. Even the best hsf in the world like the Alpha 8045 would not work right if the air around it is too hot.

those silencer fans look good and quiet. you know where i can get them? also, panaflo L1As i heard a lotabout them. are they better than the panaflo H1As? which ones are qieter or cool beter. right now its really hot outside. (live on the west coast). its even hot in my house, feels really like summer. and during smmer its gonna fly up to 100F. :Q heh

I bought mine from PC Power & Cooling at the link above. The price includes shipping and you get a free bonus pack of knurled nuts and other stuff. I have seen the L1A's real cheap, do a search, but you will have to add in shipping. I think the L1A's are quieter than the H1A's, the latter cools better, the PC P&C Silencer's are the quietest. I have 4 Silencer's in my case, I like quiet.

Mine runs on 75-80 Celsius... 😀

i need some case fans or maybe a cooler XP processor or maybe a case with better airflow.
got Aopen HX08 with Zalman 6000 AlCu.

L1a is basically low volume panaflo H1a is high volume. Best bet in my opinion is to put an intake fan in the back of the case and have it blow directly at the cpu. I have a duct that feeds my hsf fresh air and it keeps me below 46 with a tbird 1.3@1.3 at full load in florida and it's 22 outside with my ac off. Stats on panaflo 80mm are L1A 24cfm @ 21 dbA, H1A 39.6cfm @ 32 dbA.. The 60mm H is 19.1 cfm @ 32dbA. The thing I don't like about panaflo's is that they don't have a rpm monitor wire(one's i've seen). Since I like to keep track of what's goin on I'm debating if I should get a few and see what I can solder. No experience with silencer so nothin to offer with that. Stats from pcmods.com. Not great prices but they have stats and that's worth something. Intake fan at back works best with a PS that can suck the air out just as well.
