Is Ms. appropriate in this situation?

In a business email environment in which you need to email someone female and don't know their marriage status is Ms. appropriate?

Thanks in advance for the assistance.

This is..per say when you're emailing a customer of some type, not a peer/co-worker.

Always look at the left hand. It can be done quite smoothly at a bar, so it can be done in the business world.

If you can see people's hands through their email, you MUST be trippin!

I always use Ms. when addressing females in a professional environment. Their marital status is none of my business and does not enter into business dealings, unless their spouse is also a client.

I usually say Ms. even if I know their marital status. Use it all the time and you never have to worry about using the wrong one. 😉
