About the Campaign
......
Think about it. Half the population doesn’t use a toilet while the other half of the population accepts it. We simply accept India as it is. We are part of the issue, part of the acceptance.
......

I don't think its acceptance so much as lack of access to sanitary facilities. The powerful and the rich in India are very conservative and they don't see much need for public money being spent for "public facilities" especially ones for the poor. Its easier for them to say that the problem happens because those people prefer to shit outside.

Its not 3rd world anymore. More like 2nd world. Its a developing country that is expected with China to dominate this century.

Respect.

Has someone mentioned the definitions of First, Second, and Third World in the 3 pages since you made that post?

First World - Aligned with the US during the Cold War
Second World - Aligned with the USSR during the Cold War
Third World - Aligned with neither during the Cold War.

Don't forget that India has the best universities in the world with the most advanced scientific research and engineering. Which explains all the HB-1 VISAs that are in the US because you know, we're like third world and shit. At least some idiot tried to make a post about that lately on this here forum.

1st, 2nd, and 3rd world refers to cold war alignment not economic status. 1st world is the NATO aligned countries, 2nd was the warsaw pact aligned countries and 3rd world was unaligned. It just coincided with the overall condition of the individual countries due to a number of factors.

Good thing no one treats it like that anymore... take your old notions elsewhere.

but the 1% of india has 99% of the wealth.

And they choose not to invest any of it in their own country.

you have billionaires living dead smack in the center of the slums, with 20+ ferrarri and vintage car collections drive right right out into the slum cities of india.

Sadly, that right there is the truth. That's what happens when all the money that's made in a country is never actually used to uplift the country. On a bigger scale look at Africa, a continent that's money is never put back into it.

That is the ugly reality of modern day capitalism.

Coworker was showing me her vacation pics. She had it all made in this nice hardbound book. I see the pictures and think to myself dayyyum, that looks foul. She showed me pics of her village where they gather at the river twice a day, whoooaah that water looked ratchet. And the people where actually playing in there.

Is this not representative of most of India? Taj Majal was clean

most indians do their daily ritual in the outdoors because there is a general lack of facilities throughout the country. India in my opinion is still third world because of this. The indian gov't has started a campaign to get indians to use toilets but progress is slow...most prefer just doing it outside.
