Is more ram needed?

I am running Windows XP Pro on an asus a8v deluxe mobo with 4200 x2 & (2) 512mb total 1gb ram. Normally just run simple autocad, word, excell and surf the net. Any benefit to adding another gig of ram or would it be over kill?
