Is Microsoft retarded?

Someone gave me a Windows 10 laptop/tablet recently. I've messed with Win 10 on a tablet before briefly, but never really used one in depth trying to actually get anything done with it until now.

After just a few days, I have say I've wondered the thread title quite a few times!

What an absolute hodge-podge mess this thing is. iOS and Android manage to be user friendly and easy to use, and the OS gets out of your way when you need it to.

Windows trying to be a tablet OS just feels like a hot mess. At least if there was some focus on third party developers making this mess into something, with alternate launchers and keyboard and all the things that are a saving grace on Android, it might have worked. Instead, just a half assed wreck.

I think that Microsoft gave up too early. They had a really cool "Continuum" phone concept that let you plug their phone into a docking station and use it as a full fledged Windows PC. Sure, existing smartphone hardware isn't up to that task yet, but I'd imagine that we'll have ARM based smart phone CPU's in couple of years that can hold their own against the mobile/low power Core i3 processor we have today.

lol, I gotta stop by and say this: EVERY time I see this thread title, I laugh & ask myself "is this a trick question?"
