Is memorex DVD media (+ or -) any good?

Office Depot, CompUSA, and Best Buy all have Memorex DVD media on sale this week; I was thinking about picking some up but I thought I would ask here first - I know from reading other threads around here that all media is *not* created equal 🙂

I've used (3) 50 packs of Memorex 8x DVD media and never had a burn problem.

I bought a 50 pack of memorex dvd -r 8x media a month ago and they were all flawless. I am running out so I picked up another 50 pack spindle this afternoon from bestbuy for $20. I highly recommend these disks, they work great with my NEC 3500A burner.

The answer is: It depends. you need to check the codes and find out who actually made the media. If it's T-Y or MCC media, it's top-tier. If it's CMC, it's mid-bottom tier.

According to this page (didn't think to check it until after I posted here 😱 ), Memorex disks are usually Ricoh, Prodisc, Infodisc, or CMC - so you've got a 3 in 4 chance of getting good stuff...or a 1 in 4 chance of getting junk 😛
