I don't think it's been publicized. TOOL is very adamant about the fact that it's about the music, not them personally.

I can tell you that he has a son named 'Devo' who was born in 1995 and that he recently has become engaged to his girlfriend.

I think it was alluding to the fact that he is very embracing of emotion in music. Just the fact that it came to him in the form of people who were openly gay expressing those emotions might just be coincidence, but it might not.

Maynard's music is extremely emotional so that's one reason why they might have said this.

I think it's odd that people give a sh!t. Listen to the damn music if you like it, and if not don't. Whether he is gay, bangs animals, believes in UFO', whatever hasn't changed a thing about the music. And I really can't stand Tool! 😛

I agree. I own a Queen album, would that make me gay? Hell, if Maynard is gay, I wouldn't care. I still love that crazy bastard. The music is what's important. People seem to lose sight of this.

I am also a Marilyn Manson fan and some people will never let me live that down. Let me tell ya, people sometimes.....

him being gay or not, have nothing to do with how great i think the music is, it was just a question. and i do think they are one of the only bands left from the early-mid 90s hard rock music genre.
