Is male baldness a genetic defect?

Either someone wasn't doing their job correctly in QA or the requirements were poorly written. This should have been caught before GA.

i don't think it is a defect since hair is useless

if your arteries started falling out, that would be a defect

No. Even in gorillas/chimps the eldest and leader loses his hair as a sign of strength/power. It's a way to warn all the younger primates of their place.

Of course it's a defect. Humans were meant to have heads with hair.
This should have been caught during genetic testing and the defective embryo destroyed.
Everyone knows this.

Bald might be a sign of strength and power, unless you're fat. Then you're just a bald fat guy. No younger primates fear that.

Baldness is simply a way of showing to those that they have evolved beyond the need for hair.

Genetically superior ftw. 😉

seems kinda random, its just not selected against much so it remains.
bald dudes aren't any smarter or stronger as a whole. its hard to find an advantage.

And it's not like most males are actually still in the offspring producing age when it normally appears. By the time most men are going bald they are already well on their way to grandkids. So any active selection by mates aren't going to be affected.

Hair keeps the top of my head from getting sun burned, which in turn keeps my from getting skin cancer. Yeah... Hair's useless as shit.

because all bald people have burned heads 100% of the time and all bald people have skin cancer

Back in the day before modern free markets. The fat bald guy was the most powerful. Because he was the one with the wealth to eat on a regular basis.

Jabba the Hut is proof of this, he got Princess Leia to wear a bikini

I still have a nice full head of hair, but the reason why I created this thread is because I noticed the exact opposite of what you just said. I stopped by an Indian food place I like to go to for lunch. There was this young guy there, maybe 22 or 23 with half his hair gone. It looked strange seeing someone with male pattern baldness setting in so early.
