Is M. Night Shyamalan vastly overrated?

Just finished Lady in the Water.

I hated it.

Of his big movies, which ones did you like?

I loved Sixth sense.
I loved Unbreakable.
Signs = meh
The Village = :thumbsdown:
Lady in the Water = horrid

I've only seen the Sixth Sense and Signs. I thought both of them were great. I really liked Signs because it had aliens. I love aliens

I thought the Village was good. The characters & atmosphere were well done. Everyone was just pissed they didn't realize it sooner. I did think that Signs was terrible though.

I watched the Sixth Sense and Unbreakable and I liked them. Could not watch Signs or the Village, didn't bother with the last one.

ditto. i kept watching lady in the water for the surprise ending at my friend's christmas party. me and another friend kept assuring everyone that the director is the same as sixth sense and the ending will be a surprise or pretty shocking. we waited and waited through the boring story, and waited some more... and bam, the stupid eagle came, and the credits roll. everyone yelled out WTF and wanted me to give them back 2 hours of their lives.

needless to say, they made me drink a lot that night.

I thought The Village was good. Also really liked Sixth Sense and Unbreakable. Signs wasn't all that great. Lady in the Water blew chunks.

They can't all be awesome...I think he tried something different with his latest movie...it wasn't a typical one with twists and such....and I bet his next one will be good.

about 1/2 way through lady in the water I had decided it was a peice of sh!t movie. by the end of it I had decided it is the worst movie I HAVE EVER SEEN.

sixth sense and unbreakable were good though.

Unbreakable was an awesome movie, only because it had Bruce Willis and the Samuel L. "I hate mother fvcking snakes!" Jackson in it. Anybody could've directed it really, and it still would've been an awesome movie.

I loved everything he had done up until Lady in the Water. Just saw it on the plane home from vacation...terrible does not even begin to describe this movie. It was an abomination!

Hopefully he can recover from it and make something decent for his next movie.

are you guys nuts? signs sucked big donkey ****. Sixth sense was good. Unbreakable was passable. All others have been blatantly terrible.
