It really is. The graphics are better. The gameplay is better, like the map where you have to find the gas cans and fill the car to escape. Also the spitter in L4D2 allows you to prevent the survivors from camping all in one corner which L4D1 suffers from time to time.

And yet I can't get into L4D2 as much as 1. I still play 1 and I love it, but 2 I just can't get into it. Not sure why, maybe because I'm unfamiliar with the maps, maybe because it's just a bit too hard for the survivors to make it all the way, maybe just the teams I've been on. I dunno what it is but I like 1 a lot more than 2, even though theoretically 2 is better in every way. In practice, it bores me, and I can't quite put my finger on the reason why. I can play L4D1 for hours and hours match after match, L4d2 for one match before I get tired of it.

Yup, precisely.

I cannot figure out entirely why, but L4D2 just isn't as fun as the first one.

I have hundreds of hours of L4D playtime & loved it, but 2, honestly just not as fun somehow.

Thats probably why lol, they are pretty much the same thing except new maps + melee + more infected. Not to bash the game or anything i do enjoy it but its not got much different from the first one.

Well, I finished L4D 1. You do go through it fairly quick. Heckuvalotta fun though. I laughed every time I would accidentally shoot one of my team members and then hear them complain.

Btw, where's the best place to go look for mods concerning L4D1? I assume they are all multiplayer, right?

Awesome game.
I'm embarrassed to say how many hours I log on it.
I don't have as much time now that my hours have changed at work, but I still log minimum 2-3 hours a night playing with my select in-game buddies who all have good pings (from the area)

So much fun to get the stats up once you become good at the game.

I, along with my friends still think there should be a setting between advanced and expert though. Too big of a skill level gap.

We can breeze through campaigns on advanced in like 40-50 mins topps, but expert is a ridiculous challenge. (only beat Dead Center so far)

these valve sons of bitches might be releasing l4d3

http://www.videogamesblogger.com/2009/10/14/left-4-dead-3-hinted-by-valves-gabe-newell.htm

This should all have been free...

Hopefully they release quite a bit DLC for L4D 1 & 2.

Then wait I don't know.......2-3 years for L4D 3?

If we can wait for Portal 2 & HL2: EP3. I think we can wait on a L4D3.

Or 5 years or longer. I'm not in a hurry. I'm not in a hurry for a Team Fortress 3. As they keep adding to TF2, they need to do the same for L4D.

My 2 cents.....

I won't be buying L4D 3 if it's released next year or two.

Not in my opinion. I don't plan on buying any L4D games anymore unless they make it WAAAAY worth it with like 10 new modes, 50 good maps, and tons of other stuff... Then it might be worth it... Otherwise it ain't worth $5 to me.
