I wanted to get Viewsonics nextvision 17 inch LCD because it has component in and will support all hdtv modes for my
Xbox but it has 25ms response time would this be good enough for PC games especially UT03?

Please use the search key at the top right. You will find more info than you would ever want.

It really varies based on each actual monitor, along with how well your eyes can spot ghosting. But from my experience it hasn't been a problem I have a Viewsonic VX900 with a 25ms time...and I encounter no problems at all! And the picture is very clear/crisp, so far its been an improvement over my Viewsonic 19" CRT!

for xbox, yea i guess. you pay a premium for lcd tech still right now though. you could buy a nice big 19" for your pc that supports 1600x1200 and high refreshes and still have enough left over to get atleast a 27" decent tv for the xbox.

lcds have set pixel resolutions. if you don't display at said resolution its less then optimal. it has to do funky tricks to fit the image on the screen as the pixels don't evenly divide at all. displaying hdtv res's on an lcd not that good.
