Is Krazy Glue toxic to use to close a small wound...

I basically wash my hands in the shower in the morning, 1-2 times when I use the restroom during the day and one more time when I get ready for bed. That does not seem excessive to me.

I have been putting Neosporin and a bandaid on the wound. It just keeps opening up. It has been about a week.

BTW, it is on the lower half of my thumb towards the palm side.

A week for a paper cut?

Man up...take the band-aid off and let the damned thing heal.
"Liquid stitches" are usually only good for immediately after you cut yourself.

Will it close the axe wound on my GF when I am out of town?

Ain't nothin strong enough to close that gash...the last time I saw that thing, it reminded me of this:

I said it was like a large paper cut. It is actually a crack from a dry patch of skin.

I don't keep bandaids around either. Tear off a small square of paper towel, fold it a few times, and wrap it around the wound with some tape.

It isn't sterile, but it will keep you from getting blood on stuff.

Yes, because not getting blood on stuff is more important than keeping the wound sterile. lol.

Superglue is good for cuts that don't have a lot of tension on them. It may not do much for yours. You might have a bit more luck with steri-strips, as it will at least hold the skin in place.

I popped the webbing between my thumb and forefinger a couple years ago. Didn't hit anything critical, but could see the muscle. The stitches sucked because I couldn't spread my thumb or wear gloves (I work in a lab) until they were removed.

Then, instead of crazy glue, you need a good quality hand lotion. It DOES actually have other purposes than what the average ATOTer uses it for...

Yeah, i have NO such problems on my other hand.

Hmmmm.

(I have been putting lotion on it, but that just seems to keep the crack wet and open. I think I need something to hold the crack closed until it can heal, something like glue, I thought.)

Much better to keep it moisturized so it can heal.

I have a problem with dry, cracking and peeling elbows...must be too damned pointy...especially the one I lean on while I'm on the computer...I use this when they get bad:

The problem is the location. The skin keeps stretching and any healing is immediately reversed.

Maybe I need a full length thumb-hand-wrist-arm cast. 😉

To follow up. I hemmed and hawed for a couple days and it healed itself without the use of Krazy Glue (or more bandaids).

We shall see what I do next time the situation comes up.

The package will tell you if it is or not. You can also call your local poison control center whose number should be found at the front of your phonebook or google.

In any case, superglue was originally designed for and used in the emergency room.
