supposdly the cvs snapshot of Konqueror has tabbed browsing . when that comes out I think I'll switch to Konq. but for now I use mozilla, Galeon is faster but I hate all it's dependencies.

All it depends on is Gnome libs and Mozilla, atleast in Debian.

I don't either, but I have the libs installed.
The libs aren't so difficult, but what about the resource requirements? I run a GNOME 1.4 desktop, and as a simple test, I started konqueror to see what resources the KDE infrastructure would use. It seems pretty staggering:

USER PID %CPU %MEM VSZ RSS TTY STAT START TIME COMMAND

The sixth column, RSS, is the important one. I have plenty of RAM on my system, but even so Mozilla doesn't look so big in comparison. ;)

oddly enough the fonts with AA enabled in kde3 are not blurry. I used to feel a similar way, but when I first did this install with kde3 a few days ago, I noticed them enabled by default and things looked crystal clear.

Not sure what is going on.
