Worth the 6 bucks WHERE?

Dude you've made like 1/2 of a semi-intelligent post since you got here. Lurk more, post less.

JetsFanatic - Kobe beef is DEFINITELY very good, but it is best when prepared at a Kobe steakhouse.

If you buy it raw it's still good but it's much better when cooked properly.

I had the seared kobe beef tartare appetizer for $23.00 at Morimoto's in Philly a couple months ago. It was so tender and flavorful. Although it was a really tiny portion, it was worth every penny!!!!

I missunderstood what you were talking about my bad

Kobe beef, in Japan, is quite good and very expensive. I ate about ~$100 worth of beef and could have easily had 3-4 more plates. Good stuff, very expensive.

$26 Cdn per 6oz filet 😀

Very very good 😀

ps. Don't get a Kobe steak burger......... that is a waist of good meat 😀

Cheers,

The only reason Kobe Beef is so expensive is because land in Japan is so expensive. There is a ton of beef in America that is just as good or better and also cheaper.

Kobe is like a namebrand though and people automatically think it is better.

The main problem is someone orders a $50 Kobe Beef dinner for a special occasion and compares it to the $4.99 T-Bone they got from the Sizzler.

You're thinking of getting the burger at Homestead? I was thinking about trying it too.

I've had Kobe beef in Kobe when I worked in Japan and I wasn't that impressed. I prefer a nice porterhouse at Morton's over it.
