Is kingston Value ram crap?

I run Kingston ValueRAM and PNY ram (the cheap bestbuy crap) in all my computers, and haven't had a problem with one single stick. I haven't tried oc'ing though (waiting till I get my athlonXP and decent ram), but for playing games, surfing the net, word processing, watching DVD's, and listening to MP3's it serves me just fine. I think for how cheap it is it's pretty d*mn good! Of course if you have Corsair ram you won't have any compatibility problems, but look at the prices. Just my $0.02.

It's not uncommon at all for different brands of RAM mixed not to play nice.

Most likely, none of your RAM is crap.....

Probably just need to pay a little attention to the extremely large number of resources recommending not to mix RAM. 'cause if you mix it.... sometimes it will run like crap!

Would we lie to you?

ValueRAM is very solid, I have a stick of it. One warning, no OC'ing or the whole system goes caplut and sllloooowww.. Trust me, I've tried. So if you dont OC or want extatic timings then it's pretty good. And more compatible with the nForce2 than Crucial.

Would that PC2700 module be producing errors with timings set lower than 2.5-3-3-6?
No, the timings were not overclocked. Needless to say, I have learned my lesson and will not be buying any "generic" or "value" RAM any more.
