Is Kingston HyperX PC3500 on 875/865 MB incompatible?

thatsright

I have 2X 512MB of HyperX PC3500 I bought back in June from GG. Well one of the sticks was bad, and I returned it to Kingston. Both sticks, on the sticker of each Dimm are 2.5 DIMM, so I assume these are the first revision Dimms of HyperX sticks? Anyway I've heard that most folks have had no luck overclocking with HyperX modules that are 2.6V modules. Then someone in the same thread said that, no, that the 2.5v modules are incompatible with 875 Boards and in fact, the 2.6v modules are revised to work with 875& 865 chipset boards. I have passed memtest with flying colors so the ram I have now is fine.

Now I have been getting Stop Errors, but this only happens when I play UT2003 and I think its just due to my overclocked system and the game not liking it. BOTOH, my overclock isn't that great compared to others. I'm running @ FSB 255 3060Mhz Vcore default 5:4 divider- AGP/PCI Locked CAS 2-2-2-5 GAT, ALL settings set to AUTO, Vdimm 2.8. Vid card is not oc'ed. Zalman 7000Alcu & newer ABIT NB HSF cooler.

I'm so damn confused? Can someone help me out here.

Try it with CAS 2.5-3-2-6

Kingston, themselves, made a statement about their HyperX line of memory being incompatible with i865/875 boards (or so I've heard...)

My setup works fine with it.
Have it set at 2522 on my Gigabyte GA-8KNXP
Running a 3 gig at 3.250 right now

Well perhaps I should say that I get these errors right after I play UT2003 for at least an hour. The when I try to shut down my PC right after the game I will get these different stop errors. One was a STOP 0x50 PAGE_FAULT_IN_NON_PAGED_AREA. The other one was a STOP 0x44 MULTIPLE_IRP_COMPLETE_REQUESTS. Perhaps its just that I'm running the ram too aggressive with the timings, or that it's just this game, as I haven't noticed this shutdown problem after playing any other game?

Any other ideas?

With 600 posts, you know the drill for stressing. I run stable at 2.85V 448MHz with 2X256 PC3500 2-3-3-7. Try some Prime 95, loop 3dMark2k3, mem test, the usual.

I am only able to get my 1G Kit PC3500 at dual configuration to run stable at 2.5 3 3 7 at 450MHz, VDIMM 2.85V on my P4C800-E board. I am curious if anybody got better at that FSB setting?
