Is Johnny Depp the greatest actor of our time or...

I believe Paul Newman was the greatest actor of all time but of my generation I believe its Johnny Depp. With Edward Scissorhands, Don Juan Demarco, Donnie Brasco, Blow, Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas, The Pirates of the Caribbean, Willy Wonka and the Chocalate Factory and many more who else even comes close. His acting range is better than anyone out there. Who else can play Willy Wonka and then convincingly play an undercover cop in Donnie Brasco? It's a compound sentence. Grammar, nubcake. "You disagree and (understood-you) are an idiot."

It makes perfect sense if you have any sort of grasp of the English language.

I think he's from Kentucky but lived in South Florida for many years. He was in a friend's band in the early 80s...I think he still has one of Depps' amps in his garage

He's one of the better 'popular' actors IMO. Not the greatest, but of all the people that get a lot of credit in hollywood he's one of the few that nearly deserves it.

I think Johnny Depp has tons of talent.

I also think that over the same generation, a guy like Daniel Day Lewis pretty much destroys Depp (let alone anyone else) on screen.

Phillip Seymour Hoffman has been around for quite some time, too.
