I really don't get this guy.. ok he wants to be Michael Jackson like (less Indian) but why is he pandering to the very people who would fight a war over having all dark skinned people as their slaves?

Is he getting paid to do this or is he just downright insane? This guy just seems comically clueless. Were people in LA so desperate for change after Katrina they just handed over the keys to the state to a clown?

On a sidenote: Is this what's happening with Trump as well?
 
There's plenty enough to use against him without resorting to lies. His administration pledged to investigate the law (it was brought up by an outside source and they essentially said they would look into it), not enact such a law. There's not a governor in the USA who knows every law in his/her state, it would be impossible to memorize them all.

How is this a thing? Was it a slow day at Gawker?
 
No it's like every story about him is an exercise in absurdity.

I don't visit gawker. I do visit Zite with the interests Democrat and Republican.
 
It depends on whether you believe the old platitude about money and bullshit: one talks, the other walks.

Jindal has as much in common with Landrieu for her home state as he has in common with Cruz for his.

States are legal venues for corporations, and traditional locations for certain . . . . concentrated industries.

What did you think of Julia Roberts and Stanley Tucci in "The Pelican Brief?"

Was Tucci a mime version of Javier Bardem in "No Country for Old Men?"

Bardem had all the good script-lines. Certainly, Cruz has had some of his own in the clips I've seen.

First -- naturalized Indian-Americans speak the King's English better than the Queen, they sometimes love English cigarettes, but they've been known to hate the English.

Second, there must be some other factors, because I can't otherwise explain Nikki Haley or Bobby Jindal.

I will say that there was actually a GOP president who may have been politically naïve about his own party, but he was a great president.

And that was a long, long time ago. A long long time.

Jindal is just responding to a "partial-derivative" constituency. Probably some of the "Duck Dynasty." But Louisiana is diverse. Again, I say that the forces in play can be found in the Louisiana industrial base. Public sentiment thinks it (the public) is independent, but it isn't.

Otherwise, why would anyone spend so much money on campaigns?

Jindal vowed no such thing, he said he would have his staffers look into it which is exactly how I'd expect any governor to respond if they don't know the answer off the top of their head.

As far as the statues in question, the mayor is using them for political grandstanding. They are historical monuments dating back to the 1800s and in no way do they promote slavery or racism. Should we really be trying to tear down our history, even if we don't like it?

I could agree with that. I could agree that it's absurd to rename the "Robert E. Lee Public High School #69."

Maybe this points up a dilemma of mixing free-speech with mass-murder.

The Stars and Bars have been co-opted by a reactionary, extremist element. It's got a coded meaning to them. So Madam Governor Haley is taking it down. You can fly the flag on your front lawn.

You can fly it along with the Reich flag. But you can't fly the Reich flag in front of a synagogue, so you'd only wonder what potential court case arises when someone flies the Stars and Bars to offend.

I find it difficult to pay attention to any one of the many many Republican clowns running for Pres other than the Mighty Trump. He's like a supernova in a galaxy of White Dwarfs and two Brown ones, a jalapeno in a bucket of poi.
