I really don't get this guy.. ok he wants to be Michael Jackson like (less Indian) but why is he pandering to the very people who would fight a war over having all dark skinned people as their slaves?

Is he getting paid to do this or is he just downright insane? This guy just seems comically clueless. Were people in LA so desperate for change after Katrina they just handed over the keys to the state to a clown?

On a sidenote: Is this what's happening with Trump as well?

Well he is the guy that had a painting in his office of himself that was white skinned. It's clear he suffers from a massive inferiority complex which is pretty shameful. I bet a lot of Indians are embarrassed of this guy.

Personally I think it's a bad idea to tear down Confederate statues. The Civil War is an important part of our history, tearing down statutes like that just makes it easier to forget the schism in our country that led to the deaths of hundreds of thousands of Americans.

That being said, I am not a fan of Bobby Jindal in any form or fashion.

I agree completely, but with two caveats. First, there is a huge gap between tearing down Confederate statues and the state actually flying the Confederate battle flag over them. The war is over; put the Confederate battle flag in a nice case and fly the US and state flags. And second, while I don't think we should be tearing down Confederate statues, I'm not comfortable with them occupying the positions of prominence they so often do. It's good to remember our follies and sins so that we don't repeat them, but not so good to confuse kids about which side was morally just. Let's let these statues be located in historic monument areas. Preferably historic monument areas not located in front of city hall or the courthouse. And while we're honoring our Confederate ancestors, maybe add an exhibit about the black people they fought to keep as slaves. Wouldn't want a World War II museum with no pictures of Jews, eh?

"Who is that, Daddy?"
"Why son, that's Nathan Bedford Forrest."
"Was he a great man, Daddy?"
"Oh yes, son, he fought for states' rights."
"What's that mean, Daddy?"
"Well, that means the states' right to allow some people to keep other people as property, son."
"What the fuck, Daddy? Seriously, what the fuck?"

Agreed, but he was much hyped and produced much too little. He could of done much more; classic under achiever.

Not sure how long you've lived here but if he doesn't get indicted and thrown in jail then I wouldn't call him an under achiever by our standards. With that said, I can't disagree. I did like how he handled the storms and the oil spill though. He lost a lot of my respect when he passed the BS creationism bill just to pander. Hell his old professors wrote him letters saying they knew he didn't buy that bullshit so it was pure pandering. Luckily it didn't really harm anything and maybe he knew that so he figured why not sign it but I still hate pandering.
