I'm fairly convinced that she's borderline retarded. She really does take vacuous to a new level.

I am willing to bet Nick got to thinking how funny the stupid bish he's doing is and thought up the show.
Now I am also willing to bet about 90% of the things are exaggrations of possible real events and 10% is truly her.
You have to realize she never did anything responsible herself growing up, she was chauffered through life....I used to hang out with almost all 'rich kids' in HS and junior college at home and many of them had their parents doing their college admissions/schedules....hell one idiot had their 'person' try to go to class to take notes for them. Then got a doctor's note to allow it.

You don't have to be a genious to figure out that she was raised that way. She sounds like "daddy's little girl" to me.
In college I knew a guy from Oregon who grew up in a VERY small town, and he seemed amazed at the way things were done over on the east coast. He was shocked how unfriendly people are in larger cities... coming from a town of less than 100 people, he pretty much knew everyone and was on a first name basis. It just didn't occur to him that the entire world isn't that way. He understood that like in New York and Los Angeles things are like that... but I guess he thought smaller cities, yet bigger than his own, would be just as friendly. He was shocked when he reached out to shake a cashier's hand at a gas station gave him this weird look and reluctantly shook his hand.

I watched one show to see what people were talking about. It was the episode where she has her birthday. Watching the show was like being the only sober person at a kegger.
I watched closely her (Jessica) interactions with her husband and her mom. Her husband used to be in a boy band but hasn't produced anything in the recent past, right? (thinking out loud)His income is derived from personal appearances and royalties from his previous work. She still puts out 😉 music, so it's basically the only real income in the household.
Watching her mother made me cringe. she seems to be one of those star mothers that uses the child to gain money and fame. In the show she was constantly shopping (not for birthday gifts for Jessica, but for herself) and always on the phone arranging meetings. Yeah, I know a lot of parents are their child's agent which keeps the money in the family but it all seems so sleazy. And then at the party where she gets lit and dances with all the young guys. She reminds me of the type of parents that live through their children.
So - Jessica is not bright. The way she was raised leaves much to be desired. I don't think her parents (I never saw the dad in the episode) gave her much in the way of teaching her valuable life skills. But she needs to understand that she is acountable to herself. If she wants to get better or abused less from the public at large, she needs to stop being petulant and do things for herself.

well, I haven't seen the show, but I've read some quotes, and I have to say that I have a friend who is at least as airheaded as she is. (She's raven-haired though). I swear to God, some things this girl says are so dumb... Like, you know the joke "why don't girls wear skirts in winter? So they don't get chapped lips"? Well, someone told that around her, and after the laughter had died down, she speaks up and says, "But.... I have chapstick!" Or the time one of my friends was talking about downshifting in his car and she asked him why he didn't just buy new clothes. Somehow she got that he was saying his clothes don't fit him any more...
Anyway, the point is, she is really really ditzy. But she's a smart girl! I don't doubt for a minute that she was in the top quarter of her class. She got good grades, she could occassionally hold a intelligent conversation, she just was very absent-minded and said a lot of things without thinking. So Jessica Simpson could very well be the same way.
