is jerry springer fake

I assure you, Jerry Springer is real. If he were standing in front of you, you would be able to reach out and touch him and all.

His shows, on the other hand, are scripted.

I believe there was a recent storyline where Vince McMahon dies and that's what he's talking about.

BTW, Owen Hart/Eddie Guerrero/Chris Benoit died for real. When in doubt, cross-check with a news site (eg. BBC, CNN, MSNBC etc.) or WikiPedia.

Have you ever seen the reality show where they show how they make the actual Jerry show on VH1? The events are real although greatly exaggerated.

Once the Springer show did a spot looking for 'room mates who fight', and my cousin sent in a reply. He applied and got the position. Jerry's staff told them what he wanted them to say, (which wasn't the truth by any means) and they would pay him $100 if they started a fight, and and extra $100 if the shirt came off, and $250 if the pants came off. The girls get 3 times what the guys get. They did the show, but never aired it.

I use to watch Springer "religiously" when in grade 7 or 8. Loved it. Recently, found out it was still on and it just got really effed up: "My midget loves your midget" or "My transexual boyfriend left me for my brother"...

So these "actors" feel ok demeaning themselves going on international television... I love this world.

Haven't seen that VH1 show, but I imagine it works like this...

The Real part: the two women on the show, Jane and Susan, are stepsisters
The Exaggerated part: Before Jane's mother married Susan's dad, Jane was married to Susan's son, had a daughter, then divorced him. Then Jane's daughter fell in love with Susan's cousin's brother and now both sides of the family are in an uproar about the appropriateness of the relationship. Oh, and Jane and Susan's parents are trying to get custody of Jane's daughter so they can move to Egypt and squash this romance once and for all by claiming Jane neglects the child by leaving her alone when she goes out at night to work in a topless bar.

There's a point where you have to leave "exaggerated" behind because it's well over the line into "total lie".
