Is it wrong for a 19 year old to want to be with a 16 year old girl?

I've known this girl for about 1.5 years and have become pretty good friends with her. Anyway, I've never hinted that I like her as more than a friend (at least consciously) because she is 3 years younger than me. (3 years 1 month)

What do you people think?

If she said she wanted to go out with me, I would say yes in a second. Eventually I will probably just ask her out, regardless of what you guys say here, because I really do like her and think she is really beautiful.

Do I try anything in the next few months, or wait like another year?

In my opinion yes, thats a small difference in years but still a big difference in where each of you are in life. Too great for any "real" relationship, and I think 16 is too young for people to be having sex with...

She?s 16, not 14, but I see what you're saying.

I'm not concerned about things being illegal, cause there wouldn't be anything illegal about it. I just wouldn't like it if people saw me as some kind of pedophile for being with her. I would think its fine, but society always finds ways to make little issues more than they need to be.

Interesting how the age of cosent for marriage is 18 but if has consent of both parents then 16. And why is it wrong to be having sex at 16?

No you aren't being perverted. I mean think about it. If you were 18 in HS, didn't you think the girls that were 16 were hot? So what does 1 year change in someone's mind? And how much is 1 year physically? not much if you ask me.

As for the issue of sex... that?s not something I'd ever put pressure on her about. I'd always be willing to partake in the festivities, but only when she wanted it and was ready. (I think that?s a pretty common situation in almost every relationship)

I would have issues with a 16 year old dating a 19 year old. Not a lot of difference in years, but far enough apart in where you should be in your lives. She is still in high school, you aren't. So let her enjoy her high school years with people her own age.

Sounds a hell of a lot like my situation. I've known a girl for a while and I really like her a lot, maybe even love her. She has a BF, who hates me pretty much. But I don't let that get in my way of being a friend to her.
