Is it wrong to harass people on cellphones?

The other day I almost got killed by a jerk talking on his cellphone in his car. It was very upsetting and very unnecessary.

So I have started my own little campaign... when I see some obnoxious person in the grocery or at a store talking on their phone like it's a perfectly cool thing to do, I walk over and start saying random weird things so the person they are talking to can hear it. "Hey, that asstroglide is some good stuff!" "haha, this dumb guy thinks he's in a phonebooth!", stuff like that. Have I been pushed over the edge? I didn't used to be like this. :D

If you're running around bothering people that are using their phones in a grocery store, then you're being the jerk.

Why the hell do you get a cell phone if you're not supposed to use it while you're out?

However, people that can't handle talking on the phone and driving at the same time is another matter.

You need your ass kicked. Yeah, I hate the people who run me off the road because they are too busy yapping on their phone, but wtf do you care if they are talking in a grocery store?

I absolutely hate people that use a cell phone while driving... and can't drive and talk at the same time. I've never had a problem driving and talking at the same time before... but then again, most of the time I use a handsfree headset. It's just easier that way.

And yes, you are being a complete ass for doing that to people. I have a cell phone because I need to keep in contact with some people. I would be more than a little pissed if you came up to me and started talking like that to me while I'm on my phone.

Hey, I know it's uncool but I almost DIED. I saw my life flash before my eyes only to realize this jerk was on a cellphone after it all happened. He didn't even end the call. Talk about wanting to jam cellphones in orifices...

There are hundreds of people who die every year in this country because of these devices and the need of the borderline retarded 70 IQ people who think they need to be on a phone 24/7. It's uncool to harass people but it's even uncooler to risk peoples lives so that you can talk to your nagging wife on the way to the grocery store.

I hope they outlaw people driving and talking on cellphones.

Please identify where you get your stats. I'm not sure...I'll look...but I don't believe hundreds of people die every year due to cell phones. I bet no one has died in a grocery store due to a cell phone.

You don't know whether they talk on the phone while they drive or not. I keep my phone with me all the time, but in the car I use a hands free kit.

Like someone said, if I was disturbed while talking on my phone, someone would get something shoved up their ass. Chalk it up to keyboard ninja skills if you want. :)

Yeah. A lot of people get killed by drunk drivers. Maybe you should go into restaurants and mess with anyone having a glass of wine with their meal.

I think people that get upset at those talking on phones are just jealous that they have no one to talk to.

Thank you. Cellphone usage in public is just rude. It's a sign that people people value themselves more than other people. It's no wonder that cellphones are so despised in England.

well you're just wrong. if someone is talking in a normal tone of voice on a cell phone you should just piss off. I do value myself more than some random people in a grocery store in that I'm not going to walk around quietly so as not to disturb someone.

Erm, where did you get the idea that mobile phones are despised here in th UK?

Just about every teenager in this country has one and almost every adult has one related to personal or business use...

I carry 2 mobiles with me all the time, 1 for personal use, and the other is my business phone...

Get your facts right mate

You selfish bastard. You should "value others" in the grocery store, stop doing your own shopping and pick out their vegetables and eggs for them.

No kidding. It's not like it's any different then when you're talking to someone right beside you. Someone sees the cellphone and you automatically get a dirty look.

Though, there are those people that seem to talk louder than normal when on the phone than they would if the person was standing beside them.

yes it'd be rude, but people on cellphones in a lot of places is unacceptable. In a grocery store or some big box store is fine though. In a restaraunt, even if its just like Denny's or something or in their car is bad.

How is someone talking on a cell phone any more rude than talking to people with them?

wtf too you call the guy a "keyboard ninja" who says he'd shove the phone up your butt when you're talking into other peoples phones? If you're going that far, don't be shocked when someone else goes to an extreme either. I wouldn't want to loose my phone in such a fashion but I would ensure that you accidentally fell in the aisle.

You're being far more rude than they are.

In a restaraunt, even if its just like Denny's
Its denny's......do you even have to wear pants to eat at dennys. Thats like worrying about using the right fork at a truckstop.

I find it amazing that when you try an attend a play that they must tell people to turn their cellphones off before the play starts and yet people ignore this simple request. Nothing like a live performance being interupted by another boring cellphone call. It's selfish behavior pure and simple.

And yes, I go to plays and 5 star restaurants and I am annoyed by selfish people on their cellphones in all of these places.

Oh so your a posh snob who thinks hes better than everyone else?

Well I tell you what, you can leave england out of your posts regarding cellphones, especially if you are going to accuse us brits of being fussy when it comes to cellphones, when infact they happen to be one of the most widely used forms of communication in this country (Txting and phone calls).

Yeah, well there's a big difference between a performance, a nice restaurant, and the freaking supermarket.

Thank you for your show of sophistication. Props on the "asstroglide" comment you mentioned in your original post.

I think the fact -jw has an average post count of 0.08 and has been a member for 4 years (Longer than you may i add), the fact he decided to post in this particular thread (Relating to the fact he has such a low post count) must in some terms make his comment worthwhile his time to write.

There must be some formula

(Low post count) + Thread / (Idiot typing crap) = Must post to show how much of an idiot he must be...

Aren't you a lovely fellow? I had an older account... one of the originals. But it was banned because it had the letters "pimp" in it.

And I still think people who scream on their cellphones in public are morons. :D
