Is it wrong that I felt no saddness from 911

But I felt nothing.

P.S when I said deeply affected, I mean emotionally. I don't know anyone harmed or killed.

I don't know anyone that was harmed in 9/11 so I didnt really feel and personal sadness or mourning but I of course feel terrible for all of the people that were harmed

No. You didn't know anyone who died. Do you feel sad when someone you don't know dies in a car accident? I think anger would be a more typical emotion for someone who didn't have any connection anyone who died.

See I wasn't mad either.

I didn't care at all.

I didn't even feel sorry for the victims. It was no big deal in my mind.

There's nothing intrinsically "wrong" with it, but it doesn't speak well for your humanity. 🙁

People die all the time. Look at all the innocent people being killed in Iraq. I don't know them, and I didn't know anyone that died on Sept. 11. I don't like what happend, but I was not any more sad about than I am when someone else I don't know dies.

Agreed.

It's possible you were too young or inexperienced when 9/11 happened. Otherwise I would say lack of any deep emotional response would definitely be considered abnormal-if not frankly pathological. If your peers were shocked and upset, I think you likely have problems.

I lived 3 hours from nyc at the time and no one acted really upset there... people die all the time... He is pathological if peers react and he didn't? Lol... get over yourself.

It just might be possible that you are an asshole without an ounce of human decency.
Or -- given postcount and recent join date -- is just a flamebait troll.

But (giving him the benefit of the doubt), it's possible that he feels no sense of realism about it. It didn't affect him personally and so it's just one more thing that he saw on TV and nothing more.

Well said. I reacted by worrying whether or not I could still get home via subway that day.

Same here, although most of my friends didn't feel anything either and I was living 10 minutes away when it happened. My sister came up to look at the site from Florida, though, which I thought was rather ghoulish.
